The study of runes always attracted the attention of the academy and a great interest by the general public. Nowadays we can see them represented in different ways of media and serving for many different purposes. In this article we intend to deal with some of the main points on this subject, as a short introduction on this matter and, the most important, present the texts known as The Rune Poems (the Anglo-Saxon, Icelandic and Norwegian) and the Abecedarium Nordmannicum. All of them full translated for the first time together in Portuguese.
