On some dozen of gold amulettes (bracteats) from 6th and 7th century Scandinavia which imitate the Roman imperial medallions a bird with a demonstratively curved beak, by most scholars identified with Odin’s Raven, replaces the little winged Victory of the imperial Roman models.
